Swedens Naturkompaniet is a big vendor of outdoor equipment and clothing. I was approached by app makers Appanero with a request to do all of the graphics and art direction for the app. Friluftsappen is basically a navigation tool with some really cool extras. You have weather, lamp, diary, SOS button for emergency, compass and many other really nifty little tools that are handy when you are out there exploring.
The design and look took some time to establish, my first presentation was a bit too much Indiana Jones and not the more high tech style of the finished product.
It was challenging and very fun! A similar app for Fjällräven is in the making, I did all of the graphics for that one too.
