It's 25 degrees Celsius outside so why do I sit here in front of my computer? I'm deeply disturbed that's why. No that's not the case. I'm just happy to be living in the first world and being able to connect my iPhone to my Macbook and write just these words exactly here.
I got so excited about this job that I even did a little self promoting video. Sadly I didn't get the job. Little did I know at the time, that I no more than a year later, would be making me own childrens games for the iPad. Lesson learned: One gets what One wants. Just Focus. Yes.
2. Super fun job as UI designer at RIM Sweden.
Also a very very interesting job, working at RIM Sweden dreaming up new crazy app designs for Blackberry smart phones and tablets. Actually, I got an job offer but we couldn't agree upon the terms, first and foremost the job was in another city far from my son and wife. Not happening.
3. Digital designer at Fantasy Interactive
I really didn't have the time to do a proper work sample, I was in the middle of both the Naturkompaniet app and the production of the latest Biolamina movie. I thought what the heck I'll see what I can put together in just a couple of hours. Didn't work out with the job but I'm really happy with the color and theme not bad for a couple of hours work.

From time to time, when I get desperate enough (life as a freelancer is not easy my friend) I go out on the big interweb and search for more stable jobs. I thought maybe it would be interesting to have them all in one post just for fun. Or just good old self promotion babble.

I hope you did enjoy this little round up. Now, I really need a haircut badly, so long amigos.

Finally it's out and it seems to be quite popular, nr 1 in the Swedish app store under the category Navigation. Sweet. It's my first attempt at app design and the first time I really done proper GUI design. It was a lot of fun and also difficult but very rewarding to see that folks enjoy it.

App design for Fjällräven and Naturkompaniet

I'm very excited about this, we are finally reaching the point of releasing apps for both Fjällräven and Naturkompaniet, a project I have been working on since beginning of May. Who are we? Appanero are responisble for building the apps and Temperamento for all of the UI and design elements.
I think both apps have good potential of being quite popular, they have stuffed together some really nifty tools for outdoor trekking and adventure.
Stay tuned for more!

Greetings summertime! I have the fine luck to be part of the team behind the news graphics over @ swedens biggest TV channel, the great SVT, working with Rapport and Aktuellt. I'm there as an substitute over the summer and then some odd days here and there. Suits me perfect actually.
It's very different from what I'm normally used to, the tempo is very high and you have (if your'e lucky) three hours to make and render the news graphics for that day. You really have to stick to the first best idea that strikes you, there is no time to do tests, sketches, moodboards etc. Those kinds of things have no place @ a news service. Really excited to be there.
I'm going to edit a news graphics reel when I have collected enough of the good stuff. Now go and watch the news!
Apptastic Fantastic
I'm happy to announce that I am now in the app making business. I was going thru a minor crisis here recently, due to overconfident and other factors. Anyhow, there I was, no work and a lot of stress and it forced me to start thinking in new ways, how to survive and how to make new business. I said to myself: I can make apps! Or at least the graphical side of it. Yes!
So I found this list of companys making apps here in Sweden. The thing I did was compose a straight forward email saying stuff like "I'm a experienced art director, animator etc etc and now I'm looking for more freelance work etc etc"…
I have only reached the letter M in the list but already I have started working on apps with two different companies and two more are on the way. I'm really happy! And it shows that you really can do anything you set your mind to in life.
So this summer look out for some awesome looking apps coming your way!
Evolution of a logotype aka the great grey hair making machine

I recently finished doing the graphical package for the TV-show "Huset fullt av hundar" for Thelma/Louise. I actually didn't do the last version of the logo, the one with the nice 3D rendering effect. I thought maybe it would be interesting to show the evolution of a logotype from drafts to finish, from joy to frustration, from happiness to grey hairs and back to happiness. A sort of happiness. Or is it just conformity? We will never know.
The TV-show is called "Huset fullt av hundar" and it's about familys getting their first dog. I think. Nothing was filmed when I started the project. You just have to have very big imagination. I invent TV-shows in my head all the time.
They asked me to do two, three different versions, they all had to have some kind of Disney thing going on. Feel happy and stuff like that. Ok.
This was the first load of logos that I showed in house to Thelma. After some feedback I went back and continued working with a few details. They seemed to like Logotype 3 the most not at all my favorite one at that time and moment in space. I did a new version of Logotype 1 (the one I liked the most):
I also did a completely new one (the one below), don't ask me why I really don't know. I think I was inspired. Silly me. They wanted more Disney I think.
They liked Logotype 3 version 2 but they didn't like the top were it said "Huset fullt av", something about it being to hard to read on very small TV screens. I thought to myself doesn't everybody have 52 inch Plasma Screens nowadays?
Finally after I think almost 2 months of work and a couple of more grey hairs I did the last vector version that was then sent thru a 3D program to add that very nice glossy look aka the Cars Logo look that they really really wanted.
So what did I learn from the process? That penguins are cool, dogs are smelly and it is good not to take one self to damn serious all the time. Saves a lot of grey hairs I'm telling you.
Watch the very nice intro sequence made by the good folks over @ Thelma/Louise.
Airing on SVT Play.

So I got tired of the old one (big surprise) and felt it was time to update everything a bit. I wanted it to feel more like something I myself would like to visit, more of a blog theme with big and beautiful type in it. I'm really a big Rapidweaver fan, in my eyes it's the best WYSIWYG website creating tool out there, it's just amazingly easy to create beautiful and yet advanced websites with it. I fell for Elixir Graphics gorgeous Write theme, it has just the right mixture of elements that I enjoy in a theme. All and all i'm very happy with the new design, it's big and bold!
Check it out!

Inception Goooogle

Here's two thoughts for you this morning:
1. Inception Google. You can search within a search within a search. Google. Gooogle. Goooogle. I don't even want to know what lays within Gooooogle. My god 4 levels down.
2. Facebook AI. We are busy people. We don't have the time to update all our social networks (FB, LinkedIn, Twitter). Build an AI that knows you and randomly writes stuff that only you would write. And then sends pictures of you taken from face recognition surveillance cameras all around the city tracking every step you take. Joy.

Yes, after a long time in the oven (far to long if you ask me) I finally took the time to finalize my 2010 showreel. Like a half year to late but ok who's counting anyway? It's like the best of the best of my freelancing during 1 year, I like to keep them short and intense so it runs just over 1 minute.
Includes work for Thelma/Louise, EA, DICE, Filmtecknarna, House of Radon, Biolamina, Ericsson, Filmic Art, DCAP WON and others.
